Backstory:
Once a member of the dwindling species of dinosaurs, Goliath often struggled to survive as his family was slowly being driven to extinction as a result of climate change and being under threat by the tribes made up of Tyrannosaurus rex and other carnivores. Eventually, he came across an orangish gem just as the meteorite that would eventually kill off the dinosaurs made its fall.

This gem ended up saving Goliath's life, though it came at the cost of hardening his skin as be merged with the Earth itself, taking cover from the impact of the meteorite. Becoming an immortal being, Goliath lives through eons, as civilizations form and technology advances, as he is eventually worshipped as a god by the indigenous peoples of the United Federation, as the newly powered Goliath wards off oppressors with his immense power. After being satisfied with his work, Goliath vanishes. This all changes when Maelstrom the Destructor threatens humanity once more. Goliath recruits Dysirah the Dragon, Ranger the Smilodon, Everest the Mammoth, Necro the Tyrannosaurus, Titra the Kaiju, and more to form the Beast Squad, a group to ward off the evil monsters that threaten the planet.
