"The baron of Ravenford has been assassinated-- killed in his own chambers in the dead of night. Worse, the heart was removed from his body. Though magically preserved, only a short window of time remains for the Baron to be resurrected. But to do so, first the heart must be found.
Once again Ravenford turns to its young protectors. Clues at the scene point straight to Vermoorden, the home of the deadly Assassin's Guild. Still the motives for the attack lie somewhere in the Baron's past, something his old companion, Maltar, might know. Yet Maltar disappeared weeks ago, his whereabouts currently unknown. To make matters worse, undead have somehow slipped into Ravenford and folks are disappearing at an alarming rate. Further, Dunwynn has chosen the Baron's demise as an excuse to seize control of the town.
From the ancient towers of Tarsmoor to the underside of Vermoorden to the catacombs beneath Ravenford itself, the young heroes face lethal assassins, creatures of the night, and an imminent invasion. Can they keep Ravenford safe and still rescue the Barno's heart in time?"
The characters are Andrella Avernos, a young rich girl with magic powers, and Kalyn Rhan, a formidable sniper.

hehe I usually struggle with background, which is why I often make the characters fill much of the canvas space.
the background extension is by request so I had no choice there. turns out I'm getting quite okay with it
