Taken at the Cleveland MetroParks Zoo - Cleveland, OHWhile I was here, only the male was out in the exhibit and I think it was due to the minor construction going on outside their house as it caused some banging and whatnot to update and probably winterize it. The handler hanging out was keeping a close eye on him, watching for any signs of stress that would mean that he'd have to take the koala back to some quiet.
I could tell he was definitely agitated because at a time he'd normally be napping, he was moving about a lot in place. Poor guy.

I swore I'd never write this on here but Awww...poor little guy!!! Now that wrings the heartstrings! You hardly EVER see these fellows awake at all, let alone moving about, so he must really be upset! It does make up want to hold and comfort him...but you know that he'd tear you to shreds! LOL!!! How can something so cute be so fierce?? And yet he is! Still you achieved a lovely photo!!!

I know I felt so bad for him!! I've seen them slightly alert when it's feeding time but you really could tell he was bothered by the banging. I'm sure that the keeper probably ended up putting him back into some peace and quiet. Ironically the tree kangaroo just across the glass from him with her new joey was perfectly fine.

Yeah, normally the area is super quiet (except for the people) but the siding on the building was starting to really need some repairs. They probably should have just kept them off exhibit while they did the work. It was a Monday after all...
