Description Taken at Cleveland MetroParks Zoo - Cleveland, OH

With the Australian Adventure section closed for the cold weather, I didn't get to really see them when I'd been there in March, but yesterday was a bright, sunny lovely day. So after my volunteer zoo walk-through I sauntered through the area. It's a great place because there are sections where the macropods can hop right up to zoo visitors and then across the path to the other side.

This one, a wallaroo I believe--someone please correct me if I'm wrong--wanted to get across the path but there were too many people and it was slightly nervous. I snapped some photos of it while it pondered to cross the path or noth, and then I helped her by keeping the visitors back for a few minutes. After about a minute she went hopping across to the other side and I felt a little proud for helping her.

Thanks!! Though I think the subject had a lot to do with looking adorable too. I love going through the Australian Adventure because you can see them so close like this.

i've only been able to get really close to animals at this drive-thru in south dakota. it was really amazing, we saw caribou and baby animals and all the works! i'd definitely go back!

She is! And it's just Cleveland Zoo policy--the tags indicate things like species (color) and date of birth, transfer, etc...I just see them like nifty earrings she's wearing like she's going to the ball on the other side of the path.
