Description Taken at New Orleans, LA - Bourbon Street

Okay, the title of this is completely uninspired, but you have to admit that the Royal Sonesta looks very beautiful and impressive at night. On another corner you can find the Desire Oyster Bar which has some of the best "ersters" in the French Quarter.

This building site dates back to 1721 and used to be a series of apartments, carriage houses and gardens, but eventually coalesced into this singular building. Over the years it has been a costume shop, a bakery, an herb garden, a vinegar factory and a winery. The American Brewing Company, makers of the popular Regal Beer, purchased the winery in 1890. In 1964 it was demolished and rebuilt to what you see today and was designed specifically in the 1830's New Orleans row houses.

LOL What's sad is that those are only the first 2 1/2 days of my trip....1400 photos!! So I'm slowly but surely getting through them as best I can!

And thank you!! That really would be the most awesome job, to just travel everywhere and get fantastic photos to showcase the places. I'd take that job! LOL

Do you do all editing in picasa???? Or use more than one?

Because I'm shooting in RAW, I work with Elements--and I only process the ones I like the best out of them. Once I've converted an image to JPG I add in the watermark and do any cropping in Picasa just because I like that program better for it. I found Picasa really messed up the levels and whatnot of RAW files but it's great for working with the JPG and I've really loved Elements so far with RAW.

You should...if you import the files into Elements and doubleclick on them, they'll open up an Adobe RAW editor that's built in. I've worked with both Elements 7 and 8 with my RAW files. Hrm...

Yeah I have elements 6 and ....well maybe I am doing something wrong...quite possible considering my track record with computers. Its just that I prefer to shoot RAW too. lol
