Baba Yaga is a Slavic folklore character. She's both good and evil in different stories- in some, eating children, in others, helping lost travellers. She lives in a hut which has four chicken legs, and flies around on a giant mortar.
Take a look here .

Wow! Almost as in Russian national fairy tales. On my associations, of course. Wonderfully!

Mate, this is so gorgeous. I love your fantasy works, and the slope and weight of this picture is outstanding, specifically the composition.

I appreciate your kind words, mate! I've been heavily inspired by some great Norwegian artists, like Adolph Tiedemand, Hans Gude and well - Theodor Kittelsen. They all portrayed Northern European nature in a mystical and... very moody way. Dramatic. Especially the Norwegian nature itself. I just love doing such works, dramatic works, because... I love the dramatic colours and the tones. I love the contrasts - the golden, vague light shining at the top of that little hillside - and then the darkness and creepiness of the woods. This technique is an old technique, used by one of art's greatest artists - and I just love using it, even though I am not fully able to handle it yet. I try.
Go check those artists out, mate, and you'll see what I mean. See the painting by Theodor Kittelsen illustrating the local legend of "NΓΈkken", the trollish monster living in a lake (which inspired me subliminally to create the Swamplord you like)
I love his technique. It's SO mysterious. So moody. So masterfully done.
Anyways, enough with this rant - have a nice day, good Sir!
Glad you liked it!

This is fabulous! I love it, the level of detail is astounding! Look at all of those wonderful mushrooms and grasses and rocks and trees- and the house! This painting is just great, no doubt about it.

When the sketch was done, I sat there, with no aircondition in my house and a tropical night, and I knew that if this painting would be good, I had to add a lot of details. What a task, phew!
