Cool work. Could I use the little girl as part of my Concept Bible for a class, please? She would fit perfectly as my Lucy character that helps out the main character.

...And there battle would wake the world and breath light into it once more! Their swords met and each spark lit up the sky, they fed the sun. The battle lasted for hours, they smiled at each other as their swords pierced each other’s hearts..... Their bodies fell to the floor melding into one and then slowly transforming into a tree that grew taller and taller into the sky taller and taller it grew, and it was the tree, the tree, the symbol of love, life and sacrifice!

Ah images make me imagine story lines. Good job on this piece

Oooh, I love that. It's got a lot of intensity, her expression is... awesome... and _I_ can't CGI like that. (grins) I don't know how people do it. Probably invokes tablets and stuff... and expensive programs... I get to waste five days cramping my hand with a mouse to do anything CGI... (sigh)

Lovely picture. It made me log in, because I had to comment. The height differences make the pic...

tobiee In reply to calthyechild [2006-06-06 03:38:14 +0000 UTC]

thanks very much! haha yeah i've done mouse cgs too, to cg something without going insane definitely requires a tablet, depending on ur style but for programs, i use photoshop tho i cant remember how expensive that is anymore.. =\

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

calthyechild In reply to tobiee [2006-06-06 03:41:08 +0000 UTC]

(grins) I can't afford Photoshop, it's like 800 bucks or something. I'm working on saving up for a tablet and a new computer, so yeah... heh. My style can... tolerably manage using a mouse. See, I draw stuff first, fairly detailed, so it's fast enough to CGI a person. But backgrounds... oi... I'm currently working on my first picture CGI without a cheated background.

I love this picture... Sorry. Heh.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tobiee In reply to calthyechild [2006-06-06 03:53:48 +0000 UTC]

it is expensive... X_x ah well, if you got a tablet and cool comp, its all good you can get a trial version of opencanvas at least i used that program for cgin stuff til a friend gave me photoshop

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

calthyechild In reply to tobiee [2006-06-07 00:08:53 +0000 UTC]

"Gave", as in "gave" without having to "pay"? XP. How long does the trial version of opencanvas last? I do have Paint Shop Pro, which does work...more or less... but my computer runs sooooo badly with it. Grawr. Tablet's 200 bucks, too, so... yeah. I'm working on my parents to get one for my birthday. :/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tobiee In reply to calthyechild [2006-06-08 02:01:29 +0000 UTC]

haha yeah "gave" as in it was a "gift" to me aka I didnt pay

ah the trial thingy lasts forever I think, but it has limits since its trial, like it can only save screenshots or something like that =\ yeah tablet's cost quite a bit but definitely worth it for me

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

calthyechild In reply to tobiee [2006-06-08 02:05:01 +0000 UTC]

I won't ask if THEY paid... XP.

(snickers) Image programs that don't save to me are hilarious. All you have to do is screenshot and hope you don't have to edit layers or anything. And, anyway, since I have programs that save layers, all I have to do is copy and paste and stuff... (rolls eyes)

I'm working on saving up for a tablet. I'm decent now, I'd be GOOD then.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

tobiee In reply to calthyechild [2006-06-08 02:36:31 +0000 UTC]

haha, I have nothing to say about that..but anyhow good luck with the tablet funds and with the cgs that come after

I like the sense of drama and tension generated by the two figures. The sketchy brush strokes and the harsh, brilliant quality of the lighting enhance the feeling of intrigue that pervades this scene. Beautiful work.
