I just finished reading Joe Abercrombie's "The Heroes" last night, which was good, but it just made me really really miss the "First Law" trilogy. I cannot tell you how much I love that series. If you still haven't found the tonic to the melancholic aftertaste of the slightly disappointing Dance With Dragons, I STRONGLY suggest this series.Anyway, this is Ardee, getting crunk. I like to think she set out this sexy tableau for Glokta and then while she was waiting for him to get home started drinking and this is her face when he finally comes in, in all her belligerent glory. The woman's flawed, what can I say? Though, seriously, they're probably my favorite fiction couple since...ever. I f'ing love those two.

Wow...she is perfect! I have read all three books for two weeks and that was awesome. About Ardee...I cant remember that time when reading captures whith this character was so big pleasure for me. And I was really happy that she was with Glokta in the end. Thank you for this picture;333

Really nice use of grey tones on this, it brings a lot of depth and mood to this drawing. The mark making is really rewarding to look at here, though. I'm quite attracted to those hands.

This is such a great sketch; it's really loose but it reveals so much character. I love her eyes and her lips, and her fingers around the wine glass. Great work.

I have The Heroes but haven't read it yet. I like your Ardee, that jaw line is delicious. I would love to see your take on Glokta I have a hard time imagining the dude. He is like my age but just wrecked. That almost makes him cooler since my brain isn't trying to stick some actor face on his. He stays kind of mysterious.
You probably have plenty of books in your queue but I just finished The Folding Knife by KJ Parker. It has a much sparser cast of characters but they are well fleshed out. Also it is a stand alone novel which was a nice change of pace from all the series that are floating out there.This year I have pushed through, Malazan book 10 (Steven Erickson), first 2 books of the Macht trilogy (Paul Kearny) and Abercrombie's First Law trilogy. Lots of really awesome fantasy out there , not enough hours in the day.

Beautiful! Your linework has me just...staring. It have so much movement, I love following it's progression around the paper.
