Description Amarok (or Amaroq) is the name of a gigantic wolf in Inuit mythology.

It is said to hunt down and devour anyone foolish enough to hunt alone at night. Unlike real wolves who hunt in packs, Amarok hunts alone. It is sometimes considered equivalent to the waheela of cryptozoology.

UPDATED
I've received a number of comments concerning Amarok's wolf head design as not based on Inuit rather than from the Pacific Northeast culture. I am deeply aware of that. I wanted to design something unique by blending two different cultures. But since its such a concern, I decided to change it to something close to Inuit culture.

Is it possible to use this picture as a reference on a student conference? I'm preparing a speech about animals in Inuit and Aleut mythology and since it's an amazing piece of work, I wanted to include it in my work. (Obviously with the credits.)

Even if it wasn't traditional, that mask looked seriously cool. This Amarok is definitely more accurate, but less interesting in design. If you could, maybe put up the old design too?

it's really nice, but i'm gonna be critical here because the mask of the wolf is not traditional inuit art. What you put is more comon to west coast (vancouver) native art. I'm being too critical maybe. Still i like it.
