Thank you. This painting is one of my personal favorites. Color has become more important to me as I develop.

How the hell do you make the colors look so surreal? It's so soft on the eyes and you can tell there's a sunset. If it was digital ok, but damn with oils? There are no words for your talent. And I thought it was a bigger canvas than 22x28, with all the detail you put. This is incredible. The colors are vibrant yet soft. The things that are see-through are just magical and I just love the fantasy. I'm speechless I'm just trying to put my thoughts together to let you know how beautiful this is

Thank you. I feel this is one of my better paintings. The original was sold recently. It wasn't a painting I had planned on doing, either. It was mostly spontaneous. I painted it simply because I wanted to do a painting with more translucent forms in it. It just fell into place as I went along.

I love the deep emotion evoked by the lighting and mood in this piece (and all of your other pieces, as well). I would love to know what music you were listening to when you created itΒ Β

Thank you. I believe I was listening to a combination of psychedelic and medieval music at the time. Also, I think this was about the time I discovered "Lost Kite", an excellent album.

Saw this painting of yours on a random youtube video as an accompaniment to music, it took a few months for someone to put a name to the artwork and luckily my search is finally over!
There's something really satisfying about the organic structures you create, hybrids that fuse coral, trees, rock and soft bodies into coherent living structures. This is almost like nature with an extra degree of freedom. Sometimes even infused with a sort of human quality or passive intelligence as is the case with the figure just right of centre. The use of colour is also amazing and very asthetically pleasing. For me this sits right up there with Dali in terms of greatness and in some ways even surpasses it. I think there's a kind of uninhibited childlike quilaity to your work that is really quite rare even among other surrealist painters. And lastly there's the interplay between two aspects of nature: the serene, the familiar - and the chaotic, the magically absurd. A perfect balance in my opinion!
Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you. I'm glad you like my painting.
Β I wasn't familiar with the name 'Gilbert Williams' so I looked him up. I do recognize some of the images. He does great work. I like his landscapes and glowing forms.

Thank you! Maybe you could listen to music while looking at it, too. Most of my paintings are inspired by music.

It's like Hieronymous Bosch on acid, if that's even possible. So many wonderful forms and colors, and I love the detail!

Thank you very much! Bosch is my favorite artist. I've been referred to as "Thomas Kinkade on acid" a few times (which I find amusing) but I like "Hieronymus Bosch on acid" much better.

Thanks. I was pleasantly surprised with how this painting came out. Unlike most of my other paintings, it wasn't carefully laid out or derived from a preconceived idea.

Thank you. This one was actually painted on a black canvas. You should try it sometime. In a way, it's easier because much of the darkest details and the shadow areas are already supplied for you. Plus, it makes the bright areas really pop out.
You have to use titanium white to blend your paints with, though. No other white paint is opaque enough.

Thank you. Also, thank you for turning me onto Shpongle. I like their music. I especially liked their YouTube video which featured "Fantastic Planet", my all time favorite feature length animated movie. The organic forms in the film were somewhat of an influence on my artwork.

And it shows.
It's similar with me - form first and then colors that I find really talking once I find the right scheme.
