Description No. 130 Gyarados--Not a dragon, which used to upset me, but I think it's perfectly fitting now. Plus so much better than being a half-Dark type. For a Pokemon I NEVER used, nay, even remotely CONSIDERED using as a child, it's remarkable how much Gyarados has become a linchpin of my Pokemon teams. Aside from starters, which I have sentimental attachment in keeping around on end-game teams, Gyarados is the Pokemon that has appeared on most iterations of all of my Pokemon teams in modern day, spanning Kanto and Johto teams from the games I play most often, either at least once a year; I even use Gyarados on my current competitive team. While it doesn't really have the means to use its Attack stat to the best of its ability until further generations, there's no doubt Gyarados is not a Pokemon you want to give an opening to in battle. Hence, it was a fixture on my Red team until just a few days ago when something a little more scary came long.

----------

I'm always searching for projects to get me inspired, because I'm so bad at finishing things at all, let alone at a timely pace.

So when Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow were released to the eShop in February of this year, I challenged myself. I told myself that I would draw every Pokemon I caught in the game as if I were filling out a Pokedex myself, much to the style of Tracey Sketchit.

While I stopped after about ten or so drawings because of the output of caught Pokemon, I kept a list, and I intend to finish it. So here's the scoop:

-Every Pokemon will be submitted in the order in which I obtained them in the game--Though I have some finished artwork of some, they come much later, and as a result shall not be submitted until their appropriate times.

-The designs are more reflective of their original Red version sprites, but coloration is partially influenced by their current appearances.

-Each is a simple drawing, inking, and water color wash--No less than 15 minutes, and no more than an hour per Pokemon.

Thank ya! Gyarados was hard to try to do justice too, it's just a huge hulking monster. I'm happy this worked out alright though
