Hi, those look like Mandarin characters to me and most of them are absolute mutations of the real words. =\

I've used Photoshop and Table of fonts (I don't know correct english name of this app because I use polish OS, but it's standard tool located somwhere in start menu->accessories). You have to install some chinese fonts and then run Table of fonts, next choose one of the letters, copy it. After this, paste it in any graphical editor. And you're done. Good luck in making new icons.

I thought you used some brushes or things like that but it's easier lol
I don't know if the name is table of fonts, I'm french lol but I know what it is ...

Sorry, but I have no idea what do they mean. I think that it doesn't matter (maybe for Japanese it does but for me it's meaningless).
