Description Here starts the ninth series of Hulk Lanterns, with Skaar as a Lantern of Hope. This choice I'll admit isn't the strongest pick. I was thinking about making him Willpower originally, and thought about more of who he is; Skaar is quite a tormented individual. The only thing that he grasps on to is the hope to fight his father and regain that sense of who he is and what he is. (I'm not too familiar with Planer Hulk and Skaar, so this is going off of my thought process.) In essence, I feel he's more of a sign of hope for the rebuilding of his lost life and planet and that's all he's got.

I did kind of cheat with the pose. I did want to have something a bit different, but too much of his face is gone. I do enjoy the overall results, and I'm a huge fan of that skin tone! Enjoy!

Wasn't Skaar born after the destruction of Hulk's kingdom? Unless you haven't read the story already.

I knew that Skaar was born at the end of Planet Hulk with the destruction of Hulk's kingdom. I was going off of the identity crisis he had when he was first established within the Marvel universe; his home is gone, his mother is dead and his father is the only thing he had.

Personally, I wished they stopped at the "happy ending" in planet Hulk. That way, if they wanted, Hulk's son would have been Earth's "New Incredible Hulk" and learn to understand why his father left in the first place, or why he bothered to help at all.
Alas that may never be now.

I do agree with you there. I wished that Marvel would actually do something with the Hulk universe that doesn't involve lousy writing and have a lack of imagination. It's not hard to have Hulk be interesting, but I guess it is for them. Skaar's now a part of the Dark Avengers, which if it makes the character somewhat interesting, I'm for it, but I do like the idea of making Skaar the new IH for Earth.
