Hey! this is really good! hands are probably one of the most difficult things to draw, good job! To improve i would say that the little ball of light is too bright for the rest of the drawing, so you could make the highlights more brighter and sharper to match the same amount of light, if this makes sense? For example the finger touching the light should be much more brighter but however its catching the same amount of brightness as the wrist and also hasΒ a shadow right next to the light, which doesnt make much sense! I would also say maybe use lines less and focus on trying to make it look more 3D, because lines dont exist in real life so itll make your drawings much more realistic. However i understand it can be diffucult especially when using pencil, anyway fantastic job really love the idea behind it!

To the lines, yes, in real life there are no lines and it would look more realistic without them, but the rough style with the lines is kinda my own style, when I'm drawing something original on my own.Β
If I'm specifically trying to draw realistic, then I'll make the transitions smoother to make the lines disappear more.

Fantastic piece! I'm always impressed by high-quality traditional art, and this is no exception. The blending of the background gives a wonderful sense of depth, and even seems to invoke a feeling of being in a small, smoke filled room.
The contrast with the colors is also impressive, I especially liked how the colors didn't blend as smoothly as the black/white, which drew the eye to the center of the colors instead of just glossing over them as if they were are part of the whole piece.Β
The hand is very well done as well, though I would have liked to see a little more care given to finger length in proportion to the rest of the hand, it seems a bit like each bone for the first 2 fingers is too long.
Overall love it, can't wait to see more like it!Β

Actually I didn't know how to "free"draw a hand so I took some part of my hand as a modell and my thumb is really quite long haha^^ but yes you are absolutely right. The proportions are not quite right! Next time I'll do it better!

My critique:
On the hand, near the top of the wrist, bottom left, there's some orange pastel/crayon. I know it's a mistake, just needed to point that out.
The knuckles of the ring finger, pinky finger, and the middle finger look a tad bit strange.
There's a dark spot near the base of the thumb and doesn't blend into the image very well.
It's a great drawing, none-the-less!Β Β Β
