Description

Okay so I've been debating and debating on joining this group ever since I heard about it. I was excited to see someone make a group with the intent of bringing back the nostalgia and community that PKMN Crossing created, but it took me a very long time to finally decide to join! Anyway, here's an old character I'm sure some recognize! I didn't go with my original PKMN Crossing characer Ty the Quilava(or Umbreon) since I have mostly retired him. Because Ty is retired, I have decided to go with a character I'd like to give a home again. I originally intended on using Shane when attempting to rejoin PKMN Crossing on the revamp, though I decided not to. I threw him into PKMN University, though he's long since been homeless. Now, its finally time to give this fiery doge a home again! Also, I apologize for the abundance of the doge meme.

Shane can be described, often by himself, as a show dog. He's a goofy guy who loves to socialize with others, though he may appear overzealous at times. He loves to show off for others, whether its by cracking jokes, acting, or even showing off a variety of voice impressions whenever he can. While he was rather anxious as a child, he grew to love being in the spotlight and he has been known to try and steal it on occassion. Its no surprise he can come off as rather rude at times and he even has a habit of getting jealous if he's thrown out of the spotlight. He's loaded to the brim with confidence in himself and he can be quite motivational. He seems to have a bit too much confidence at times though and he has often over estimated his own skills in any given situation. He's not afraid to take on any task, though he may often do it blindly. While he can talk the talk, there are times when he can't walk the walk. He does his best though to never give up and can be rather persistent at times to a fault. Shane though does have a rather soft and sensitive side deep down. He does tend to have some issues with procrastination at times though and he is often times easily stressed out when there's a lot going on, or on his mind. All and all, Shane is a Growlithe who lives for the spotlight.

History

As a pup, Shane lived in Castelia City where he lived in a small two bedroom apartment with him mom and his twin brothers. While his single mother was busy working late nights at a local billing company, the Growlithe and his younger brothers were often left in his grandmother's care. While he was at his grandmother's, Shane would often spend time watching TV with his younger brothers and he often took advantage of the time he had since his mother didn't allow him to watch much TV. The reason she wouldn't let the Growlithe watch so much TV was because his mind seemed to soak up things like a sponge and he often liked to act out what he saw on TV to entertain his brothers and his friends at school. Things often did get a little rough when it came to action. He would find himself down at the principals office at times though due to his antics and jokes, and his mother was often very strict on punishing him. His friends and brothers though only encouraged this behavior of his and it would soon set up for his future dreams.

After elementary school, Shane would find his family expanding as his mother remarried to a Beartic and moved into a three bedroom home in Icirrus City. As Shane began to progress through his new middle school, Shane began to took a huge interest in paying attention to movies and acting scenes out with friends as he did as a child. It was here when he started to learn about the drama department. His friends had full confidense in him and while his friends, brothers, and step father seemed to support him, Shane's mother seemed very hesitant on letting the Growlithe try out. She was frustrated with how he behaved in his childhood, though her husband tried to get her to support their son. Despite his mom's frequent protests, Shane was allowed to try out for the school musical: West Side Story. He seemed to have a bit of difficulty preforming since he felt a bit intimidated by the judges and despite the Growlithe pup's best try to cope with his stage fright, Shane didn't make the cut for his first school musical. The Growlithe was rather upset, though the judges suggested he tried some acting classes. He began to bug his parents for the money to put him into these classes and even began trying to bargain with his twin brothers to help him. While it was difficult and took a lot of chores, the Growlithe's parents though eventually decided to help him out and pay for classes.

As the Growlithe entered high school and took these classes, he seemed to get over his stage fright and began to improve his acting skills. Thanks to a year of classes, Shane managed to finally suceed in his goal to make the cut. He continued to take these classes as his high school years progressed, though the Growlithe would find himself growing more and more lazy with his school work as time went on. He even found himself growing to really love the party scene with his friends as numerous high school parties began to surface. He began to put his acting and parties ahead of his school work when it came time for the musicals, which generally happened twice a school year after 10th grade. While he was able to rise to more prominent roles, the directors and his parents began to take note of his slipping grades, especially in 11th grade, though this caused him to be pulled from the school musical. Shane was devastated that he had to sit out of the spring musical and his parents didn't even let him try out for winter musical in his senior year. Shane only had one option to do though and it was to improve his grades. His parents pushed him through the winter of his senior year and seemed to take time away from his social life even. He was annoyed that he was hardly given enough time for his friends at school and the parties they were throwing. With all this taken away from him though, the Growlithe was able to focus on his school work and by the time spring rolled around, Shane's grades were decent enough to finish off strong and take part in his final school musical.

After high school was over, Shane managed to graduate, much to the joy of his family. The Growlithe wanted more though after his final high school musical and the only next option from here was college. The Growlithe didn't have that high of a GPA for some of the most prestigious acting school's unfortunately. The Growlithe managed to gain acceptance into a University in Hoenn, though things didn't often go as he planned. Unfortunately, after two semesters of slacking and partying, the Growlithe failed out. Not wanting to return home to tell his parents he failed out, the Growlithe decided to seek out help from a friend of his. With some help from his close friend and their family, the Growlithe managed to get enough money to make a down payment on a home. He'd have to find a job though to repay them, and on top of that, he had his own charade going on with his parents. He realized he somehow had to figure out his situation with college, knowing his parents would ask. Taking the money he had, the Growlithe left off in search of a new place to live, though could he keep up this act going?
