Description
This is the portrait of the main character from my story "L'incantatrice di Travale" ("The enchantress of Travale") www.efpfanfic.net/viewstory.ph… . Her name is Elena (Helen)
it is based on a true story: Elena lived in Tuscany in the XV century. She was known for her "magical abilities", especially love and hate potions.
She had a trial at Civil and Religious tribunal of Volterra in 1423, preseided by the bishop Stefano di Geri del Buono. She was accused of "being an enchantress, practitioner in divinatory art, witch and a dispenser of wicked advice, coming from the Devil itself".
Volterra was quite "merciful" with her: she was scourged in the main place of the town, and banished forever from the diocese (but, at least, she was alive).

I have always loved this character. When I was a little girl, my brother and his class mates did a short movie about her (my class never did such things, they had a fantastic teacher T_T). I was fascinated. I was watching the movie again and again, I knew every line by memory (I think my brother hated that movie .... they had forced him into tights, strange clothes, strange hairstyle and made him act in front of a camera XD).
