After the treason which happened in the Rosencrat family, the traitors moved to the east, causing territorial disputes between the Scarpellis and the traitors who then called themselves the Mahenzerati. Carmen's family had been fighting with the Mahenzeratis for the longest time. The two families settled on a truce after six years of fighting, the younger generation took a while to tolerate one another.

The Scarpelli family are known for their brutal knife skills and the power to render themselves or objects invisible. They are also the only people who are immune to the Sforzend family's cursed songs. They're descendants of fugitives from the Mediterranean islands who were ushered in by King Axia. Most of them were soldiers or businessmen who made pacts with the Archus traitors from Sarasa, Carmen's father being one of those people. In the comic, she discovered one of Archaia's sealed boxes which contained one of the King's elite patriarchs and helps him to regain his status and to unite the scattered Revata family.

Carmen is a headstrong woman who doesn't take shit from people. Being a Scarpelli matriarch, she has kept all her family members and syndicates in check. Challenge her and she'll drag your corpse all around town. 8D
