Guncam. The module can link to the HUD of a soldier and give him/her a possibility of shooting around corners with just exposing their hand. Plus the module can be used for evidence gathering, espionage, or simple combat recording (á la Blade III). This module is popular among the RSS: the cam offers thermal sight, enhanced optical sight, light-enhanced sight, laser sight and tactical light (low intensity) all in the same package. And after an op, the special operatives could brag about their kills, study and analyze the mission (own actions, enemy reactions, and further adaptation to the situation) some vids are used as training tools or propaganda.

the module itself can record up to 48hrs and it records when the gun is gripped and the safety is off (weapon hot). You've seen Blade 3, right? They used a gun with an inbuilt camera when the Nightstalkers rescued Blade. And used some of the footage as intel.

The M/08A1 Blaster Pistol is nice. Love the detail on the hand-grip, but I think that the human hand is more built to have the middle and ring fingers set together than the ring finger and “ pinkie.” Most handguns just “separate” none or all of the fingers. A good excuse for having the grip like it is: It would be easier for ALIENS to hold.
Note: Hope I made sense. It has been a long day.

It is designed for the basic five-fingered humanoid hand. I think I subconsciously made it so that the ring and pinkie fingers would have a tighter grip, like usually with swords.

I see what you were doing, but would that make force disarmament easer?

plz elaborate/enunciate.
As I said, i subconsciously had the divide between the middle and ring fingers. When making the grip, I remembered that the M16 grip had a nub on it, also between the middle and ring finger.

Disarmament: Lets say a sword’s hilt is like your pistol if a enemy could grab the blade and “twists” it your ring and pinkie fingers could slide off and fully lose your grip, now apply to a hand gun which gives the enemy more to grab and “twists”.
Although I’d love to hold this blaster pistol… “Nothing like blasting through a tank with a handgun.”
I like that companies make handgun today you can change the hand-grip on.

The weapon here is partially modular, meaning that though the grip contains some of the inner workings of the weapon (various regulator and safety implements), the whole grip can be swapped for a more fitting one. Or removed altogether and have the weapon placed on the arm of a medium powered armor suit (something like 40K space marine). This modularity allows the weapon to be used by non-humanoid soldiers.

Disarmament is not an issue with Republic soldiers. If the enemy gets to two feet of a soldier, he immediately takes a close combat stance (preferably unsheathing his knife at the same time), lowering his/her sidearm so that they could use that hand/arm to block. All military personnel in the Republic Armed Forces (this might not hold true for all member states/worlds/races) are trained in some form of martial art. The RSS have an entry requirement of a MINIMUM of 5 separate martial arts, at least three of which must be black belt. There's nothing more dangerous in any range than an RSS soldier/knight (they're called the Seraphim Order) with his/her weapon of choice. Give a sniper rifle and they can disable a battalion. Give them an assault rifle, they can wipe out a company. Give them a sword they can destroy an entire platoon before lunch. Give a toothpick and put 'em on a ship... That ship'll be a ghost ship before you could say "WTF's going on?"

I've gotten in depth about them on various artworks in my gallery, mostly in the form of replying to comments. The Republican Guard patch and gorget and the RSS blades ([link] [link] [link] [link] ) have some more info on the RSS. In summary, they're SEALs, Delta Force, SAS, Spetznaz, Commandos and the Waffen-SS all rolled into one.
