Description
This is a picture of my manga's main character Irrylath.The picture's based of a scene during the story where he slowly, and painfully loses his wings, I was tempted to draw the more gorey part where they're actually being ripped out of his back... but I'll do that next and from a different perspective so it has more of that gut-sickening goodness. For the most part, this is just a study so I can test out wing structure (which I'm aware is not anatomically correct at all, but neither are his wings and they're not supposed to be.)
And it looks like he's crying, but he's actually coughing up blood and poison.
Pose referenced from some picture on dA or the net, but I can't find it again/remember the artist. So. You can let me know and I'll credit. critique would be greatly welcomed on how I could improve this drawing.

I've had people mention that series to me before. I randomly found the name attached to a drawing online a long time ago. It probably was something related to that series, and eventually his name may have to change to avoid confusion.

I started to finish painting it, and then that got ruined. don't have photoshop anymore either. but this summer I'll probably get around to putting some color too it. here's hoping anyway.

Well, since I suck at drawing, I don't really have much ground to critique you on...but I do know some things about feathers, if I know anything, and the remaining feathers on his back at the base of the bone aren't really supposed to go that way, to put it bluntly. I know it's common for most artists to have them stick out like that in the popular "scruffy" fashion, but it's not really right.
Again, I know you probably don't care, since you said you don't care about anatomical correctness, but still. I've seen so many incorrect wings (not that I'm calling yours incorrect) that little things like this kill me.
I used to be nicer. Really.
Other than that, it's totally wicked awesome and I envy you.

Oh this is gorgeous I hope you finish it. I have a thing for males coughing up blood ( I think I write that type of thing out in my own books too much....) I love his anatomy, especially on his arms and stomach. Those wings look beautiful to me...why must they be ripped out? This will be beautiful when finished, because it already is.
