TRDL 2012 Series, No. 45 - The Batman [TRDL Dark Knight Rises]

This was done for the R3 Art Challenge, the subject being Batman from Dark Knight Rises. All month we are doing characters from the new film in the R3 Art Challenge, starting with Batman, then Bane and then Catwoman.I had trepidations coming into this one because despite worshipping the Nolan Batman trilogy, I've never been fond of the Batman costume. I accept it in the films, I see it functionally making sense, and I like that it evolves over time. But I'm a Batman Year One kind of guy, and always wished that they went that route with the design in these films. That said, I gave it a whack. We'll be seeing the film on opening weekend in IMAX, but until then, I'm intrigued about the fact that the suit looks to be more armored than the previous ones. I'm curious how that will be addressed in the film. Necessity? More support for an older, weaker Wayne? We'll see.
