Description Axanar...the word is followed with a great battle in the mid 23rd Century that would make it possible for humans, and other species in the Federation to work as brothers.  It's strange how such a concept gets construed into a major war with the Klingons, and an insult to the result it brought down on Star Trek fan films.  The sad fact is, we don't know WHO the Federation fought.  Yet I have some insight, seeing all anyone thinks about are ships firing phasers, and photon torpedoes at eachoher then using their brains.  Follow me, and see that logic dictates that humans are illogical.

In 2161, the United Federation of Planets was born.  So what makes you think Andorians, Vulcans, and Tellerites just joined Starfleet?  All three races barely tolerated each other, and all thought humans were...well...a bit not ready for prime time if you get my drift.  Mind you humans were doing what they do best, being the biggest Hippocrates in the universe.  There was an anti-alien sentiment before the Romulan war, so what makes you think it disappeared after the war?  Our history is full of this sentiment, just look at War World II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.  What too old, and boring?  Well look at today.  Anti-Muslim sentiment, countries actually turning away refugees, talk of building walls.  Yes Humans are Hippocrates, and I doubt in 150 years that would change.  So, perhaps Starfleet was 100% Human for the first few decades.  Sure maybe an Andorian, or Tellerite may enter Star Fleet Academy, but 9 out of 10 times, washout.  As for the Vulcans, it would take much longer for them to deal with a bunch of illogical creatures like us to even TOLERATE the low education standards, and Root Beer in SFA.  Now I got you thinking "She's a hater", think about this, over these decades, the Federation increasingly get more technology, better ships, and arms.  Exploring strange new worlds and all that Jazz.  Then some of these new species enter SFA, and graduating.  But the numbers are still low.  Starfleet is basically a Homo Sapien ran military.  This would catch the attention of some activist who see Starfleet, as pretty much invaders.  A human war machine that will claim their culture.  Oh now your saying I'm bugging.  Understand, if you watched any amount of Star Trek Enterprise, even you can see, we were messing up BIG TIME!  Meddling in other cultures and using our moral code as if it supersedes everyone's else.  We had to make a Prime Directive, but...we are human.  That book was no more than Toilet paper in some contact situations.

So now I pretty much got a lot of Trekkies, and Trekkers mad at me (for telling the damn truth), what does this have to do with Axanar?  Well The Battle of Axanar was a battle fought by the Federation at Axanar, led by Fleet Captain Garth of Izar. Garth's tactics and actions in this battle were required reading at Starfleet Academy. It was noted by James T. Kirk that Garth's victory was instrumental in making it possible for he and Spock to work together as brothers.

Now I want you to understand what was stated.  This sounds like a Civil War, or a Battle to prevent one.  In any case, it can't be the Romulans as we don't see them for another 17 years.  The Klingons...it wouldn't be a single battle, but a war, and Errand of Mercy pretty much canonically says...there were no hostilities in the time frame.  So who did Starfleet fight?

I don't know, but it wasn't an organized government.  Nor was it fought with a fleet of starships on either side.  Mind you the Battle of Mutara was between two starships, so what was the Battle of Axanar?

It was the reason Spock became a science officer.  Why there was 430 Vulcans on the USS Intrepid.  Why M'Ress served as a Communications officer, and Erix as a Navigator.  How Crewman Dax served during the Khitomer Accords, Worf served on the USS Defiant, or Candela Greene serve as the Captain of the USS Crusader.

Lesson here...don't build walls, and stop thinking of violence.  In the grand scheme of things we are all brothers, and sisters.  For just as there is a Battle of Axanar in Star Trek, it may as well been the Battle of Selma.  To me, it would be the Battle that ended Ignorance in the Federation.

Highly provocative and intriguing treatise, one that has some considerable logic to it, both canonically and as a hypothetical. Definitely some considerable food for thought.

Well, think about it,  A battele that made it possible for Spock to work with Kirk as brothers.  I don't see a Battle with an outside power, that is canonically confirmed....never happened.

Perhaps a civil insurrection similar to the Terra Prime movement; they certainly demonstrated a willingness to use violence to further their agenda, it definitely has some rather dramatic and thematic possibilities which would be intriguing to explore.

I have props for a good amount of fan films that have been made, but Axanar is more of an FASA inspired reason to over produce what amounts to a Geek gasm that has no bearing on anything that has, or will happen.  It's great if you like the Kelvin timeline, but to me...it just doesn't fit.

Actually, the V4 Body suit is a bit....too comforming, I need to turn down a few dials to get rid of certain naughty bits.
