Outstanding all around. Superb light and composition (perhaps slightly cropped at the top).
I really like how the computer looks like it's at the woman's womb, thus creating a whole new level of significate.

I like the clean look you have given your idea. The girl taken out of context of her surrounding makes it sexy but not erotic, pleasing but not offensive. The concept is clear, so that much is successful.
There are a few things that bother me with this image. The way you composed the frame seems rediculous to me. I hate that you cut off the top of her head, the side of her arm, and the bottoms of her feet. She seems to be in a totally white environment, so why did you crop these parts of her out? The lighting is a little strong, and you blow her out on the edges of her rather than giving her soft glowing light. This is a problem particularily in the armpit/chest area, I think. Also, the monitor isn't straight?! Why the heck not, it wouldn't have taken much at all. You manipulated the border at least, you could have done something about the orientation of the image. Anything else just feels sloppy.
I hope you take these critiques to heart and that they can improve your work to follow. Congrats on the daily deviation and feel free to stop by my gallery!

Thanks for the critique.. too many people are commenting on Macs vs. PCs, so it's nice to have someone talk about the photography for once! *grin* I hate hearing critical things about my photographs as much as the next person, but I do try to use critique to improve. I am, after all, a student.
The cropping was purposeful. I think it looks a little strange with the black border, but I wanted to keep the entire series uniform with the design for posting. To be honest, this photo was taken at the end of the shoot; Nadine was completely exhausted from finals and just leaned forward for a moment. It ended up being the shot that conveyed the strongest sense of what I'd been looking for.
The lighting on the armpit may be *partially* your monitor; it's fine on the calibrated monitor I edited it on at school. The prints I have made of the image have full tonal detail in that area, they are simply much paler than the rest of her skin. Also something I did on purpose.

Well, if I was completely exhausted i would have leaned forward with such an unconfortable pose like she has. She looks like a skilled model, i woundnt have guest that this in only a "spontanous" photo. Her face expression look so great combined with the sterile surrounding.
I prefer to cropping you did, but I have to admit i would also like to see it uncropped (for comparison).

I don't think the pose was particularly uncomfortable. She is a skilled model; but it wasn't a pose that I'd asked her to do, so it was spontaneous in that quality.
I tend to crop in camera as much as possible; gives greater resolution for prints. This is almost exactly how I shot it.

It's all a matter of opinion. The systems equal out i nthe end. I'm an avid PC user myself. And I dislike Macs because of their appearance and the general style they are used in.
It's all what you're raised on.

Interesting... I was raised on PCs as well. Avid PC user until the year after I graduated high school, when I bought an iBook to use in college. After using a computer for two and a half years that never has the immense problems I'd always found with PCs, I've reluctantly decided that I must be a Mac girl now.
But yes, the do equal out in the end, roughly.

Sweet deal. I've become more of a case-modder as of late too. And Macs have a small amount of cases that are interesting to mod. So that's another plus for the PCs with me.

Playmac? This is a reasonably tasteful picture, in my opinion. Also, you could never get this effect with a PC ... so much less pleasing to the eye... Now, if you wanted a more pornographic shot, try having her hide behind an iMac Mini, or perhaps an iPod. (For god's sake, I'm just kidding.) I'm just full of good ideas, am I not?
