Description
So, the house we live in now is a newer house, which means the insulation is pretty good, and also, if you have all the doors and windows shut, you can't really hear things from outside. We also live very close to a shrine, which means there are a ton of trees, and thus, cicadas.
Now, the area I live in is one of the hottest places in Japan (despite it being not particularly far south) which means it's too hot for most of the pretty sounding cicadas, and we only get "Aburazemi" for most of the summer, and their chosen noise is to scream at the top of their little bug lungs, in mass, which can be overwhelming in close proximity.
All of this culminates in the experience of going from a nice, cool, quiet indoor room and the second the door is cracked open, noise and heat just BLASTS into the house ^_^;; The dichotomy is pretty amazing.
