Description It's really very strange to be showering and then there are little paws all over the door... hilarious. Until the cat climbs the sink and goes for the door handle and then fall when I unknowingly open the door.... poor kitty!

They ARE strangely into that shower, they always run in after we finish showering. And then they walk through the shower doing the wet paw dance.

Enjoy!

my cat the other day was jumping from the chest to the table and hit the table square with her face.

Plastic wrap. Lots of plastic wrap.

Also, at some point, would you mind if I bombarded you with questions about moving to Japan? Because it looks like I'll be moving there summer 2016.

Awesome Thanks a bunch. I'm sort of going in blind here. I barely know how to find a place to live or get insurance in English, much less in Japanese. Not to mention how to move my stuff halfway around the world and how to find a job....

The best way would be to find a job and use that to get over here. Otherwise, you'll get kicked out after 3 months ^_^;;

Try Gaijin pot. Or look into JET or AEON or one of those companies

Will do. Thanks. Finding a culinary job is going to be interesting...

TriaElf9 In reply to foxesdemonica [2012-12-13 02:32:16 +0000 UTC]

That might be tough, depending on the job. Your Japanese will have to be fluent as well, if you want to work anywhere but an English company.

Yeah. I'm working on finding Japanese lessons here in Philly. But it's looking more and more likely that I'll have to go over as an English teacher and try to switch jobs once I'm there.

TriaElf9 In reply to foxesdemonica [2012-12-14 01:03:34 +0000 UTC]

That's the easiest way to get over. But if you want time to study in Japan, I wouldn't recommend AEON.

foxesdemonica In reply to TriaElf9 [2012-12-14 01:33:15 +0000 UTC]

I'm not worried about time or studying. I plan to immigrate, so barring deportation I'll have the rest of my life.

Living in Japan for the rest of your life will be tough, but if you are able to, it is worth it ^_^ Japan isn't too friendly to outsiders, so you'll probably be stuck renewing your visa every few years or so. ^_^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

foxesdemonica In reply to TriaElf9 [2012-12-14 18:32:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know. But I figure it's worth the fight. Worst comes to worst, I pack up and move to Japantown in San Francisco or Little Tokyo in L.A. But in the meantime, visas it is.

Also, how do you pay taxes in Japanese?

TriaElf9 In reply to foxesdemonica [2012-12-15 00:00:37 +0000 UTC]

Well, my boss tends to deal with most of that. She gets me to fill out something like a W2 form, and then files in January.

foxesdemonica In reply to TriaElf9 [2012-12-15 01:35:00 +0000 UTC]

Ah, okie dokie. So the W2 form is easy enough to do?

TriaElf9 In reply to foxesdemonica [2012-12-15 02:39:57 +0000 UTC]

As long as you work with an English Company and can read Japanese, it's not that big of a deal.

foxesdemonica In reply to TriaElf9 [2012-12-15 18:18:48 +0000 UTC]

Err... that might be hard, unless I want to work at something like McDonalds or Krispy Kreme...

TriaElf9 In reply to foxesdemonica [2012-12-16 00:13:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, and in Japan, only Japanese people work there. I'd aim for a hotel or like, a vacation spot. You're more likely to need English there.

I think they like the warmth, maybe? My cat use to sit inside the shower with me (out of the spray of the water) when he was younger. Since I actually gave him baths a few times he now knows the dangers and just sits outside the shower meowing at me.

Hehe, water is a good teacher. I use to spay him with a misty water bottle when he was doing things or going places he shouldn't. Always got him to stop pretty fast. He still likes to push his limits though!

There's these four cats that I pet sit for and sometimes if I end up staying the night I'll take a shower. For some reason they think it's a good idea to try and join in me in there. That is until they realize how wet it is. lol And another cat I take care does the same thing yours do except if I catch her doing she has the most embarrassed look on her face and then runs off to hide. I have no idea why she does that either. lol Cats are silly creatures.
