It is.I was making a scarf in silk and painting it.I used the remnants to experiment on!!To contain the silkpaint you have to use a barrier paint called gutta.To get textures you can sprinkle rock salt or use wax to draw something .I used rock salt to get this one!

This was the first silk painting I did!!

I believe so... it must be a bit difficult handle silk as canvas.

You have to stretch it on a frame..with dozens of tiny drawing pins...That is the worst ,time consuming part

You have lots of patience... it's just like when you described the gold leaf piece... perhaps even tuffer!!
They do look gorgeous afterwards, thankfully!!

...You would enjoy putting the paint on the silk and watching it spreadIt's good if you put rock salt on the silk That makes it go patterned like Misty...Unless you put a barrier paint where you dont want it to go it does what it likes!!
