Description HAPPY BASTILLE DAY//France's Birthday!! I wanted to do these separately but eh... seemed easier to stick them all together in the end.

I remember finding someone on DA that was really keen on seeing France & Marianne together... Marianne is the symbol of France as a state, and what it stands for, as opposed to the Rooster that represents everything that Francis does, I guess. I wanted to do eh, period wear for them.

And some fun & true information!

I was reading the wiki entry on France in preparation for this, and actually... France is HUGE. And a really major power. It's easy to see it as this whiny tourist location, and we do because we're all Anglophobes with British DNA, but actually they kinda deserve a lot of props. No wonder all our schools are teaching French...

Ah yes...my grandmother likes to lecture me CONSTANTLY about this. How France is a huge power and that at one point it was THE language and then english came along.

Anyways, i loooveeee your aph art :) I think I tell you this enough! LOL It's filled with cute facts<3 I specially love the little France and Germany drawing there! <33 I really like them paired as friends, since well, they're quite close IRL! :'D DA needs more friendship drawings! LOL

Yeah actually, now that people have mentioned it I want to draw more modern pal France & Germany...
Heheheh have I brought back some bad memories? England has been on top for a long while, but France does have some epic history. I think we need to remember that because in the popular view in English-speaking / commonwealth nations, France is just this whiny, irrelevant place with nice wine. A really English view...

I've always found it cool how Germany and France are now close buds! Especially considering when France and Germany come to mind most would think the countries are complete opposites.

Yeah, and Germany actually OCCUPIED France for a while there... England & Germany still have this tendency to diss each other & trash each other's football matches, but those two have really moved on to lead Europe. One of history's success stories I guess :>

Yeah, reading about it it seems the current direction of the EU (how much power it has, the economic zones etc) is all pretty much France & Germany's vision, at the expense sometimes of the smaller & Easter European nations.

And, yeah, France is a very powerful country. It is. And, the French president Sarkozy and the German chancellor Merkel are really close buds. xD They're kinda writing letters or something.
