Description
This is the centerpiece for a larger project where we had to redesign a CD package. Given freedom to choose the package, I chose to redo an obscure album from one of my favorite bands, Fair to Midland. For anyone who doesn't know them, and I'm sure that'll be just about everyone, get on youtube now and look them up. This was meant to be one side of a 4 panel foldout booklet for their amazing albm Inter.Funda.Stifle. Their sheer strangeness is worth the time.Anyhow, this piece took about 2 days of solid inking, and about an hour's worth of photoshop colorization. I still consider this primarily a traditional work, however.

Decided I hadn't been around your gallery when I was m.i.a and came flipping through.
I remember seeing this for the first time and being blown away. It's still one of my favorite illustrations anyone made all that year!

How would I go about doing such a thing? I mean, I'm already flabbergasted that someone else on earth knows who they are, let alone knows anything about them.

Just go to one of their shows, Cliff always works the merch stand (at least in MN) and after the show, if you wait a little bit all the other guys are usually hanging out around the venue talking with fans.
There's a tour starting up in March so that would be your best bet. Also, if you're able to make prints I know Darroh REALLY likes getting gifts from fans, he has a shrine of stuff back home apparently. XD
And shows are still pretty cheap... I just got tickets for a show in March for 11 dollars.
But yeah... You should join the forums it's a fun place and you can keep up to date on all the fun FTM stuff, it's a really tight community, and not too big yet. And a lot of people share their art on there too.

I may have to look into that. I'd love to go to one of their shows, but I'm in Montreal and it seems that nothing really cool ever comes here. They're not even touring into Canada, so I'm a little out of luck, but I might try the forum. Couldn't hurt, right?
