Awesome characters. I like that mean looking little squid fairy, he looks like he is plotting something.

This is a marvelously crazy picture. Really, really nice. I like the touch of the roots on the biggest treeman's head, in particular.

Fantastic design, I love the treemen, they look awesome. This has a real graffiti style to it, would be killer to see it on a wall some place.

Didn't really know what to expect with this one, but a lot of character, and I like it.

Character design first. I LOVE the Treemen, really excellent expression, depth, and unique characteristics (especially love that the even the hands become integrated with the ground). The hashing on these is really great too, lots of depth, texture, and even reflected lighting, just within the hashing. The captain is okay, but since he is closer to human, I have something against which to compare him, and have to say that his ribcave and torso eems really strong, especially fot the gesture you have going with the line of the coat and the arm bands. It looks like he is thrusting his chest out in the march, but even so the back line then looks like it should be taken in. The ... squidlings, I can't really say too much about them, except that they sort of disrupt and aesthetic that you have going with the treemen, as does the captain. The colors are so much warmer than in the focal point creatures, as well as brighter, so they end up being rather distracter. Get some unifying lighting on these guys to integrate the image together

As far as composition goes, you seem to be working on a very flat stage, except in the bottom left corner, with that nice silhouette and layering. It seems a strange place though, to place depth, when we expect to see more of it in the background, than the foreground. You have a lot of possibilities with this background, the white accents the characters well, but so would a temperature distinction. I really want to see the environment in which they exist. The planes and perspective of each character are also disjointed, the man is walking on a different plane than his entourage, who in turn exist in a different plane than the trees. I don;t know how I feel about the apple, on one hand, it's sort of a hidden element, and is pleasant to find, but it is so out of proportion with the sort of bonsai trees you have, and serves to lead the eye of the main main focal points. If you squint, there is a major loss of value depth on the entire left center and top of the image., and even with the hue distinction, the overall values of the figures read similar. Grab this in a digital editing tool, kick the contrast way up, so that you only have the deepest blacks, the pure midtones, and the highlights, and then re-evaluate your composition, how could you use value to enhance it?

Would they be offended if I told them I was a strict meatatarian? And... can they smell if you're lying?
