Description
I use a lot of Ancho Chili, so I grow in in the garden.
This Poblano pepper plants were started from seeds I collect each year from Ancho Chili peppers. The Poblano are green, but when they turn red, they are called Ancho Chili.
I use about 5 tablespoons of the Ancho Chili powder in a gallon of chili, and the same amount in Chicken Fajitas. I stopped using the Chili powder to make chili because I can make better without it. I need to get more Masa flour because stink bugs made it stink, and I was sure I could fins a stink bug in it, but it was just the smell. I learned to keep everything in ziplock bags. I use 2 tablespoons in the chili to add a little tortilla flavor. Too bad I need to replace it, but it was years old, and the bag was almost falling apart.
The plants in this image froze, because I put them out too early, and I just grew more.
I find it is much easier to put seeds in a damp paper towel, and put it in an air tight jar, and put it somewhere where the light don't go. and check on it each day and wet it with more warm water, until it starts rooting. Then it is ready for starter pots.
These pots were not cheap for starter pots, but I learned the cheapest starter pots, can come from the trash. I made some out of plastic bottles, and I even used larger bottles to grow them in, in other images I show I used gallon ice cream containers. I made holes in the bottom so it can drain when it gets too much water like in the rain. It is better to use trash than dominate with world with trash. I have not made a tire planter yet, but I can always get them for free, because the tire shop has to pay to get rid of them.
