No, you're right--there aren't many. That's super lame. Now I really want to find some superheroines who weren't made solely for the boys who can't buy a Playboy or Maxim.

Those tatoos look amazing, and heck, this spirit animals just rock.
What drew me into the image though is the way the colouring brings that effect, and also the fact that I'm still learning the basics of human anatomy... and so, this inspires me to keep working!

Getting the right human anatomy is really important in a drawing. I recommend drawing even cartoon figures from photos (models tend to wiggle too much for me to see muscle tone).

I draw everything in a notebook first, and then I use photoshop. I can't draw anything to save my life on the computer, haha. I was in MS Paint yesterday with my little sister, and I made a silly looking dog. She made the exact same thing like ten minutes later.

I'm exactly the same way! I tried sketching something on photoshop for my first time, and it came out horrible. lol. You just have more freedom when you do it by pencil & paper. Or maybe we're just used to it. haha.

Photoshop. I draw it out on a piece of paper first, then I scan it in and start coloring it. I was thinking about doing a tutorial for this, since I used a new technique to do this style, but I'm not sure.

Especially since I'm not a huge fan of the intro...But I love this piece and you SHOULD be ridiculously proud of it!

So yeah, haha, you wanted a picture of her tats, you got one, haha. I'm trying to clean up my work because it's usually kinda messy. This is a nice change though. 
PS-You should tell me how to make the intro better.
PSS-Have you seen district 9 and Avatar? I think that is how our "non-humans" should be seen, with almost no rights.
