My entry to contest. Hope I do well. Win or lose my goal was to improve on using color and lighting. Success?Time: 9.5 hours
Program: Photoshop CS5 (pure bristle brush)

This picture turned out very well! I love the shading on the dragon! It looks so realistic! The lighting on the trees is such a success for sure! I think you did that perfectly! And the water in the backround just looks amazing! So real! I can actually hear the waves! And the moon is an epic win. The dragons pose is such a success! I think you got that just right! And the way the neck turns as the head goes up is great! The membrane goes perfectly in sync with it!

The fire is definitely a huge part of this picture! The fire practically makes the lighting in this picture, to make everything seem so real! It looks fantastic! The wood looks great, and i think i see brush strokes in the fire (good thing) That makes a huge perspective on this picture! I think its one of your best! I definitely see improvement there! Those leafy bushes look amazing... seriously! And the rocks beside the shore... and the hills! They all just look fantastic! I think i talked a lot about the backround in the first paragraph, so not much to say here but this is fantastic!

Hmm, the breast plates looks purple in my monitor, its probably an adjustment needed on the monitor. The wobbly moon was kinda on purpose since I was going for the natural painted look. Kinda hard to make a perfect circle with big bristle brushes in Photoshop CS5.
And thanks! I have no idea how I pulled off the shading....it just happened I guess.

I really like the lighting and colours here, a job very well done. And I like how you didn't try to stuff a whole lot of scale details onto Sigma, but instead added just enough detail so that it looks realistic, but not like one of those HD games where you can see every single thread in the guys clothes from 3 metres away. Well, I hope you get the idea >_>
