Description This is for a friend's project! Thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and submit it to the Design Initiative contest as well!

Much like my previous fakemon, Jokai, these dragons are based on parties and festivities, specifically ones held in the oriental countries.

Name:   Hippoquin
Type:     Dragon / Fairy
Ability:   Vital Spirit / Insomnia
Stats:    45 / 35 / 50 / 75 / 55 / 65 (320)

"Hippoquin can get easily excited from the simplest of events. When they're having a great time, they sometimes let out sparks of fire, which resemble that of confetti."

Hippoquin evolves into Kommalong when it is at least Lv. 38 and leveled up during the night.

Name:  Kommalong
Type:    Dragon / Fairy
Ability:  Vital Spirit / Insomnia
Stats:   80 / 70 / 70 / 140 / 90 / 105 (555)

"Kommalong can be found during festivals, where they dance around in the night's sky. These movements causes them to shed some of their scales, which people like to collect and use as wish talismans."

My shading technique is a bit weird, but after a while with working on it it's pretty simple!

1. Make a new layer, right on top of the color layer. Your colors must be flat.

2. On your new layer, which we'll call the "shade layer", use a very blue color and the default brush to draw in your shades. It'll look similar to cell shading.

3. Use the eraser tool set to 50% opacity and SLIGHTLY trim off the edges of your shades. You'll know if it looks right if there's a very small "ridge" between the not-shaded area and the shaded area.

4. Set the layer's type to multiply.

If this sounds confusing, I can make a small tutorial with images if you want!

Quite like them. ^~^
There's deff a party appeal to their appearance, with their bright colors and cute designs. Somehow they remind me of both the New Year dragon puppet and a Pinata.

Oh yes! Slightly inspired by pinatas, which is where the square scales came from
