Here's the new red samurai armour, i'm trying to make this one more historical than my last one.This one is 8-9 oz leather, dyed red, with about 7 or 8 coats of lacquer.

I was wondering how to measure yourself? Is there an easier way to do it? I was reading Techniques of Medieval Armour Reproduction and couldn't figure out how they did it, although they were making plate armour. I've been trying to reproduce a set of Samurai armour but can't figure the measurement part out. Any help would be great on this issue.
