Description More sketchy stuff

Top:
Another ballpoint sketch. There's a world developing here, but I'm letting it go at its own pace. I love pseudo-organic structures.

Left Middle:
A cute Hellflower. That thing that chased Babyface here: [link]
I have no explanations.

Left Bottom:
Panel from the comic, just to take up space.

Right Bottom:
Sequel to the top picture. Something's going on here. I like doing these pictures because they're simple enough to not worry about, but still can be interesting.

So you used some space to fill some space: CUNNING.

I really like the ship at the top, its design is a nice mix of being sturdy and delicate. It also looks a little like drift wood to me.

I have been meaning to ask, do you do pencil sketches as a base for your ballpoint sketches?

Nope, I might make a thumbnail sketch in the preceding page, but otherwise I go right in with a pen.
Mostly this is because I have an inexplicable hatred of the feel of pencil and paper.
I find it the most fun way to practice things, though not necessarily the best as each drawing rapidly devolves into a desperate attempt to fix mistakes in pen.

Ooooh, I love the look of that ship at the top. Elegant, but deadly.

Oh ye gods... Cute Hellflower is CUTE. I like the design on those guys a whole lot. That, and the wingy-things on the ship in the top panel. There's such a touch of whimsy in this batch!

Oh wow, LOVE. Top: very baroque, delicate, almost art-deco quality here. Man, this reminds me of sketches I did YEARS ago, of some sort of asymmetric organic vessel. It's those beautifull stained-glass dragonfly wings that do it, I think. Reminds me, have you ever read Concrete? Bottom-left: light sail?? Looks to me like the "mothership" that could have dispatched Top to ye olde boneyards. Bottom-right: Did a double-take when I saw this--I have this note here I scribbled the other day: "Post-mortem biological processes? Metabolism (growth, ossification) continues after 'death.'" Don't know what that means, but I think we might be channelling the same superconscious archetype here!

Hellflower sketch reminds me that I commented on one of your earlier pieces but dA pulled an internal error and it got lost in the ether--then I forgot to rewrite what I couldn't remember. Copy-pasta this time, just in case!

Oh holy craps Concrete is amazing, I love that series, Chadwick is amazing. Funny you mention it because I've heard that similarity before

"Post-mortem biological processes"
Now that's a story seed if I ever heard one, some sort of lifeform where higher level processes can be shut down, leaving lower level processes still growing and doing their thing? That's awesome, man
