Description The walker jets are primarily espionage and surveillance devices. Though they are larger than workhorses and wield a machine gun mounted in their "head," along with carrying various blades, they have little armor and rely on their speed and stealth for defense.

Most missions involve the UCAV hunkering down in a hidden area awaiting orders or a specific target. Their skin has the ability to become lighter or darker and thus are very difficult to spot. When staying still they also have the ability to become thermally neutral and so are nearly invisible to infrared devices.

Interestingly, their skin and muscles do not reflect rader, but instead their engines and internal structure do. To reduce the radar signature they have internal stealthing, where the reflecting parts are shaped and coated with radar absorbent material.

Walker jets are technically inorganic, however their muscles, neurons, and other organs are grown in lattices of organic tissue that is later removed. They consume alcohol for energy as well as to fuel their engines for electricity production or if they need to fly. They are clever enough to steal alcohol and are always trained in multiple ways to ferment fruits and grains with little equipment. This makes them quite popular with their trainers.

I'm a bit disappointed with the scan, it looks better in reality. However I do like how it came out. Micron pen and Prismacolor marker as usual.

The more I look into your art, the more I get convinced that some weird quasi-organic stuff like this, and not iron-and-chrome terminators, will be the way of the future for robotics.

Even as someone who works exclusively in metals, that's my gut feel too. There's a lot of work being done on nano-scale structures that is just downright amazing.

Metal is awesome for applications that are stiff and strong, but it lacks in on-the-fly adaptability.

I guess we'll still have metal around for the "bones" of the stuff, as well as for weapons barrels, etc. I had an idea for such a "soft tank" once - it was basically a big gun wrapped in flexible nanocomposite materials that could change color, harden and change shape to deflect tank rounds and missiles. When it detected an incoming round, it changed shape in a split-second to better shed the energy of the impact. It could spread itself over the landscape to lower its profile, even "flow" inside abandoned buildings and vehicles for camouflage. It looked like a giant geodesic slug.

That sounds really neat! Shapeshifting materials are all sorts of awesome

Yanno, you make me so fecking jealous!! BUT I recently perfected an interesting technique for fur using my prismas. You'll see it when I post a picture of a character called Shane 'Bleach" Miyamoto.

Sweet design, and the texture on that tree is just magnificent! So gnarly and twisted and cool.

I also love the idea laid out in your description. Awesome idea, I love all the thought and detail you put into it.

Very lovely picture, I have to say, you're always tops with texturing and background detailing. It's kind of sad, though, because my favorite part of this is the tree on the left, rather than the subject matter being displayed. XD But the walkerjet's cute, too. Your ideas never cease to inspire me.

The written bit is GREAT, and I love how these guys are popular because they can brew.

You have some of the coolest, original beastys there are. I like the rippled muscles in the forearm (?) and the detail and depth you can achieve with pen.

I love how you actually give depth to each piece. Not many people take the time to write out excatly what's going on with their creatures. As always, your pen and ink is dauntingly beautiful.

Also, the way you use technoragics is wicked sweet.

Great job girl!

Whoa, I love your designs. They look really cool, and yet with your descriptions they sound as if they could be real, or plausible creatures.
