Another section of the Froststar AU. Had this floating around my computer half finished for ages.

Thistleclaw seethes as Bluefur brings the little intruder back to camp. He knows she'll start whining about the incident to Sunstar and any other cat who'll listen as soon as she gets out of the medicine den. And that's... inconvenient.

Sunstar's a soft hearted fool, but he knows he needs a strong cat to succeed Tawnyspots as deputy when he retires. Thistleclaw has managed to gain his respect as a tough cat who's willing to do what's necessary for the clan, in spite of Bluefur's featherbrained yowling. It would be a shame if something stained the image he's been so careful to build up.

So how can he mitigate the damage from this?

Thankfully, Bluefur hadn't actually seen much of the confrontation with the pathetic kittypet. And there might just be someone else he can shift the blame for the violence of the attack onto. After all, it wasn't HIS fur in the intruder's claws.

Apprentices do get carried away sometimes. He'll just have to properly reprimand him for it.
