to get a leopard dock using tiger you have to install Dragthing [link] and then you have to install the leo dock [link] after that you need to look around the net for docks that you like.
by default it will only use straight corners, but if you like to have round corners you have to use a little bit of code.

There's a large 'diamond' mask that envelopes the dock and is what is cutting the edges of the dock image off.

To remove it, you will need to edit the Theme.plist file within the theme and remove the diamond mask:

'Show Package Contents' of the theme file, and then edit the Theme.plist file. If you open it with TextEdit, search for the phrase 'Diamond'. The settings for the mask are within the surrounding tags. If you delete everything within the tags (including the tags themselves), save and then doubleclick the theme file again, that will hopefully do it.
