Description ....Very Near.

West Coast Lady Butterfly, the start of March is always a sign of Spring being very close, the Apricot blossoms (seen here) are the first to bloom, the Plum are next, then the Forsythia and Nectarine.

That's great! Nicely done nailing the focus and DOF! I'm surprised stuff is already blooming, our grass is only starting to turn green in CO

Thanks, Andrew! This was taken the start of March, and now these flowers are all gone due to squirrels.

Haha those darn squirrels, maybe that's why I haven't noticed any flowers blooming

Aww, lucky! I haven't seen any flowers here, much less any Lepidoptera yet. I have some of my tulips coming in awfully early, but some animal seems to have nibbled at some of them but that's it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TurquoiseMoon In reply to GuardianOfCliffton [2013-03-17 06:37:31 +0000 UTC]

Hopefully flowers will start blooming very soon for you!

GuardianOfCliffton In reply to TurquoiseMoon [2013-03-17 06:56:22 +0000 UTC]

Hopefully....and hopefully that darn animal, whatever it is, won't nibble away at them that it would kill them.

TurquoiseMoon In reply to GuardianOfCliffton [2013-03-17 06:58:52 +0000 UTC]

Have you tried covering the plants that get eaten like that with chicken wire? We have so many squirrels and rabbits that eat our plants that we have to cover almost everything.
The Apricot flowers you see here have all almost been eaten, we can't really do anything about our tree's flowers...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GuardianOfCliffton In reply to TurquoiseMoon [2013-03-17 07:28:38 +0000 UTC]

Hm, I thought about it, but that's as far as it went. I need to look for such chicken wire, but even if I find/get it, the problem would be trying to get it positioned OVER the plants without crushing them; being so close to the house, right up against it, it would be hard to position it properly. :/

Oh, I'm sorry.

*sigh* It's okay, don't worry about it; it's my problem to take care of; and as the gardener, my responsibility to deal with.
