Description More environment doodles. I've been doing several for Sky Herder as warm-ups/cool downs, but it was killing me not being able to draw any trees in anything so I flip-flopped over to do an environment for my character, Gin. So here he is, exploring some lovely red woods... but not like actual redwoods because those are totally different. XD Gin spends most of his time exploring, so this is a pretty usual thing for him. Basically, he's a ten year old drifter. lol!

Ugh, I gotta stop with these late night submissions. >_<

I like these colors. This looks so pretty, is Gin holding a flashlight or some sort of gem/crystal in his hands for illumination? The effect you created looks very cool.

Eh, Gin is his own light source in this because I was just doing it for composition's sake. :I

It looks cool, and it looks like he is holding something, so I assumed it was some sort of crystal reacting to the light coming from the left behind the tree.

Youve made so many new things since I last was here! Dunno where to comment. XD

I love this enviroment! I get a strong feeling of how it must be to walk there alone. And Gin is da most awesome character! More of him!!!

Me and me sis was out last week wanderng about a big forest for almost 8 hours, with hundred of years old trees, moss growing on their trunks, mountains with hidden caves, a lake and small springs, hidden trails up hills and down valleys, everything shrouded in green and with the sun shining down in pillars making glittering light on the forest ground. It was magical. Nature is truly the best thing ever! I seriously wanted to merge with it so I never would have needed to leave. And still here I am. XDΒ

Ooh, that sounds fun. I went hiking on Saturday to this place near my house called "Sam's Throne" and it was super cool. The rocks made it look like you were standing on the back of a giant turtle shell overlooking the valley, and the "throne" rock in this rock that looks like a chair set right at the edge of the cliff. Unfortunately it's the dry season here so none of the waterfalls or streams were flowing, but there has been good rain this year so the forest and everything is still super green and lush. And there was one tree that had started changing colors already. XD I'm super excited to see this place in the fall. I haven't lived here very long, and I've only seen it in winter and summer. Β  But I've been told it's drop dead gorgeous in the fall.

Oooooh that sounds amazing as well!!! Now I wanna go there!Β

We have all our summer left yet because its been really cold and everything started to bloom very late. But I love autumn! Its the best season because of all the colors and the freshness and good temperatures, and no killer mosquitos trying to eat me as fast as I take a step outdoors, or crazy tourists with one million kids that occypy my lake. Haha. It must be really awesome moving to a new place and experence the seasons anew! Β Β

lol, hey I live in a tourist place as well. XD Now I always feel like I'm on vacation! Β  But luckily we don't have too many people around, and they don't come too close to us, since they're generally campers and the camp grounds are farther off towards the canyon, which is on the other side of my house. And by canyon,Β  I mean really big valley... not so much of an actual canyon. XD

Escaron In reply to Turtle-Arts [2013-08-30 10:23:23 +0000 UTC]

Hahahahah, constant vacation sounds friggin awesome. XDDD And if the campers stay of your grounds its all nice, I dont get why they cant do that here! But nooooo, them tourists walk past and see our dogs or cats and then they just haaaaaaaave to come in and pet them. I tell ya, me and my sis have planed for ages to take a fee for every person coming into our garden with their awful kids to pester our animals. Β We also planned to lay hidden on our roof and shoot at them with waterguns. XD

Really? The tourists just walk into your yard? You should get a no trespassing sign. :I

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Escaron In reply to Turtle-Arts [2013-09-11 08:55:48 +0000 UTC]

They sure do! They see we have 2 dogs and 5 cats (they are indoor cats but are often outside in a big cage - because they loooove to be outside but have 0 cat instincts and cant be out on teir own)Β and then the tourists make the excuse that "our kids just HAVE TO pet them because they are so cuuuuuuuute" and they just barge in! >_____<Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Turtle-Arts In reply to Escaron [2013-09-11 15:36:06 +0000 UTC]

wow, that's realy weird. The only time I ever pet an animal belonging to a stranger is if its owner is right there and gives me permission to do so. I mean, you don't know if that animal is going to try and bite you or scratch you or whatever. Just because it looks cute doesn't mean you should run up and try to cuddle it.

I revoke my "no trespassing" sign. What you need is a "Beware of dog" sign to deter your tourists. XD

Escaron In reply to Turtle-Arts [2013-09-11 17:08:19 +0000 UTC]

I know. >___> Its really like they think they can do just whatever because we are living on the country side. Its just the same with the fact that people let their dogs loose to run around however they please here because "we are in the countryside and here there are no rules" 4 times this summer Ive had tourists dogs come Β charging at me when Ive been out walking our dogs, and okay the dogs havnt done anything BUT one of ours is really frightened of big dogs and get a panic when they come running. Also I cant know before that the dogs are friendly and that give me a panic to, because our last dog got bitten to death by a pack of loose dogs ((they had escaped) when I was out walking her, so to suddenly see a big german sheperd come sprinting directly at me isnt much fun. :/ And therefore I loath stupid tourists even more!Β

Hahahha, I think IΒ΄ll go for "beware of Linda - vicious and bites if you thread upon her territory". Β XDΒ

Escaron In reply to Turtle-Arts [2013-09-12 09:08:57 +0000 UTC]

Hahahahah, maybe Americans doesnt go that much to Sweden. Although we did have Obama on a visit with his 36 planes, about 700 people, being cooks, buttlers etc, and his hellicopters and on and on. It was INSANE! And they plugged all Stockholms man holes and put in unshatterable glass at his hotel and then in the end almost no people came to see him. It wasnt any chaos at all. XD

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Turtle-Arts In reply to Escaron [2013-09-12 16:03:43 +0000 UTC]

looooool. XD Why would Swedish people want to go see Obama anyways? I mean, what's he got to do with you guys? I'm pretty sure if a foreign dignitary came here, I wouldn't bother going to see him. I'd just watch the news report on it later.
The only president I've ever seen was our last one, George Bush.Β  He came to my high school to give a speech to the city.Β  I was in marching band and we had to play the presidential theme for him. Which meant all of us had to leave our instruments out the night before for the secret service to inspect to make there weren't... I dunno, bombs hidden inside the tubas or something. XDΒ  It was funny though cause my friend left a note to the secret service inside her case asking how his day was going, and he totally wrote her back and stuck his reply inside the case.

Escaron In reply to Turtle-Arts [2013-09-22 20:45:09 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha, in some way they are thinking that small sweden with its little population totally wanna see the big awesome president from the world leading country, we cant be anything else than super duper mega impressed by him, they all talked about Obama showing up being a powerplay to show his might, but did we care, nope. XD

But yay for the note! That is really awesome! XD
