Also know as the Allied Rifle, the Sampson M26 was introduced by the California Republic to support its units during the Second American Civil War. After the end of the Civil War, the M26 was introduced by many European nations as a cheap weapon to supply their forces against the Russian invasion. Since most of the nations that adopted it were apart the Western Alliance, or the Allies for short, the M26 got its nickname as the Allied Battle Rifle despite being an assault rifle. The Sampson uses the 5.56x45mm NATO round.Related content

I won't lie, the idea came from the Fallout 3 Assault Rifle. Most of it was based off the design of the Thompson in the end though.
