The Yer Type 52 Electrorifle is the standard issue weapon of the Nafvankan Republican Army. While other worlds developed lasers and plasma based weaponry, the world of Sofia created a coil-gun. Using a battery on the side of the magazine, the electrorifle uses it to propel a slug of metal over distances by magnetizing it. This make the production of ammunition simple. An electrorifle is a large calibre weapon similar to an assault rifle and larger calibre weapon up to artillery, followed by the electrogun, a submachine gun design, and finally the electropistol, a typical sidearm. The results of the first electrorifle used in battle were quickly copied by other nations on Sofia and became the standard of the planet. The Yer Type 52 is primarily built in the Nafvankan city of Yer. Using a 7x46mm slug, the Type 52 is a symbol of Nafvankan militarism. The Type 52 is a rather cheap and durable weapon with a high rate of fire (900 rpm) but moderate accuracy. The Type 52 has been used in Nafvanka's countless wars with the Sha State to the east. The Type 52 is common outside of the Nafvanka Republic due to many being captured in wars with the Sha State. The Sha State usually sells them to other states, thus increasing the numbers seen outside Nafvankan service. The Yensho Empire to the north adopted the Type 52 and produces them in their city of Yavo.
