Better freakin' believe it.Something that's been bothering me increasingly over the past few days, especially due to a friend of mine who this shit actually effects. I'm sick and tired of people hiding behind their little Bible/Q'uran/Torah/etc. to condone their close-mindedness and their need to control other people's lives, when the shit doesn't effect them at all. I mean, good god (no pun intended), you're just giving the others of your religion a bad name.
I could go on, but I'm assuming the majority of you could really care less about my views

You shouldn't judge homosexuals for the way they live. I'm a christian, I do NOT support the LGBT community, but you shouldn't hate them right off the bat just because they are homosexual.
But at the same time, it makes me angry when people hate on homophobic people. They can be friendly, kind, as long as they won't keep talking about it like an immature child. But still, hating on homophobes doesn't help, and I don't think anyone's gonna go far if they try to change the world by hating on homophobes OR gays, because it's never gonna help.

I myself am a straight Catholic, but I don't see the point in hating anyone just because their love is not how they see as "conventional". Β So what? It's none of their business, anyway: it doesn't involve you, nor does it have anything to do with you - it's not your life, it's their's, and last time I checked: you don't control their life. Β Besides, it is seen that homosexuality is more genetic (an increased amount of hormones), and genetics are from a person, and a person is naturally created by God according to Genesis. Β God created everyone in the image He wanted and with a plan in mind and obstacles along the way to test character - He created gay people as well, and their obstacles are probably all the hatred spewed right at them.
Even if I doubt others of my religion and sometimes even doubt of what I myself have been taught, I know that I myself will never doubt God, and I'm confident He loves everyone just the way they are. Β I know that He'd never forsake someone just because of something like that, if they continue to be a kind and benevolent person: to those who argue that God doesn't go back on his word, I'm sure that He's fully aware of how times are heavily changing. Β And so, of course He'll adapt - just because He loves us that much. Β Remember Noah and Moses? God saw so much sin, He flooded the earth to wash it all away as well as sending the plagues down during Exodus, however in the New Testament, He chose a more peaceful method of sending the prophets (e.g. Nathan and Elijah) and Jesus, rather than resort to firepower.
To all who want to argue about how supporting gay rights and loving God is naught possible - there's something called a back button, and different opinions. Β This world consists of billions of people: there's a high chance you'll find someone who doesn't agree with you, and guess what? Deal with it. Β Not everyone will agree with you in your life, and that's how life works. Β I honestly don't care for what you have to say simply because you do not matter to me, personally: everyone has their opinion, and here is my two cents. Β And of course, here is something that you plainly do not agree with; why are you even here in the first place?Β

Being gay is not about who you date, but who you are attracted to. Plus, maybe thee are some 'flexible' people out there, but most of ti time, it would feel really uncomfortable to date and 'be with' someone who you're not attracted to. Well excuse me for growing up in a Catholic family that firmly believes they choose to be gay. Not long after I posted the comment, however, I found research proving that it's actually not a choice. Still though, you and no one else can get me to sway my faith in God and support them, not even if you put a gun to my head. At least that way I'll die with honor and I'll be praised in Heaven.
