Description Okay, time to revisit this project. It's been a really long time since I originally started the whole Tri-fusion experiment with the Monster Hunter creatures. The original entry for Kushaku  highlighted some of the key features of the monster, at least in a rendering of its head. I had mentioned it in a couple of the other posts but I did intend to do a fully realized drawing of the fusion and here it is. Kushaku combines the thin, agile attributes of Yian Kut-ku and the bladed armor of the Elder Dragon, Kushala Daora.

When I set out to do this concept drawing of the fully realized monster, I wanted to make sure the final piece showed off the parts of its components clearly. Both YKK and Kushala have layered armor plating on their body with Kushala's being a bit more metallic. I tried to combine those two here, giving Kushaku the same kind of armor. As far as classification goes, Kushaku is a Bird  Wyvern and has a body type that most closely resembles YKK. In order to bring out some of Kushala's attributes, I gave Kushaku a more heavy frame. YKK is chicken-like and has thin limbs for the most part. Kushaku is supposed to be much more armored yet still streamlined enough to be agile. As you might guess from the plumes around its mouth, its element is Fire.

That's it for the overview. I have finished renders of each of the initial three fusions and they'll go up very soon. I was hoping to wait until I had fully drawn the final fusion but it's proving to be a real challenge. I'd rather get these designs up and start looking at some new projects with the intent to come back to that final fusion at some point.
