Sorry about the last panel. I spent WAY longer on this than intended. It was supposed to be one of those cool coloured rough sketches and turned full-out. I was tired and needed to finish it already. If you don’t like it, just cover it with your hand and the comic works just fine.

In all the years of Martin’s life, Uriel never once saw his son a second time? Surely not.
I wanted to make a connection to Martin’s half brothers too, so I gave him a family. There is no way the next in line to the empire would not have kids by his thirties. It’s kind of his duty. But ja. His design is based off of the official etching of young Uriel which looks a lot like Martin. Drawing that physical resemblance between Martin and his happy older brother also is supposed to show what Martin might have been in a fair world. Instead, he’s a messed up young man trying to pull his life together with no real family.

Trying not to make the religion just a catholic clone. I was going to have Martin holding some chalice or bowel of water, but I thought, “Akatosh is a dragon god. Wouldn’t it be cool if they were holding bowels of fire instead?” More exotic.
