And here I am. After several long hours in and out of school with nothing to do but create works of art, I have finally created my very first OC group shot. It's not what you'd call perfect, but that's not what I was intending. Everything, from the placement of the characters to the way they're facing to what they were even holding, has a specific purpose in this picture. It is a representation of Illinois's journey, his encounters, whether posted or yet to be created, his struggles, his losses, and the overall epic that lead him to where he is now.

What cannot be underestimated is the few but strong and unique friends he has encountered throughout his lifetime, just like the many good friends that I have today. I can easily say that you are all some of the best friends I have had in a long time. I can connect with everyone in one way or another. Sure, some of us may have hit a few bumps in the road, but that hasn't stopped us, because it will not stop us, not now, not ever. I want you all to know that you are all true friends to me and I will stand by each and every one of your sides to the very end. Make no mistake, some of us will continue to have bumps in the road, but that's life. There's no escaping it. There is only holding on and pushing past. You, all of you, are the reason I sleep well at night, the reason why I can still function well as a human, who can make me feel important and worthwhile. You have all helped me realize that life is still worth living for and that I should push on to see to the very end.

And I thank you for it. I cannot possible express just how much joy I get out of having friends like all of you. My parents can never truly understand what it's like to have friends like you and probably never will. My brother and sister mock me for talking to people that I may never personally see, for wasting my time away at a hidden fantasy. And I will continue to struggle through their misunderstandings and ignorance, for I know that no matter how much they mock me, they will never feel the same sort of joy as I have felt and will never meet the sort of good people that I have met here and now.

This work is a commitment and inspiration from me to all of you, to show that we are strong together. As long as we don't get in each other's ways and fully realize each other, that we are all different people and not everyone is going to agree with us, as long as we drive to understand each other and make each other feel good and support ourselves and each other, we can achieve greatness.

Note: This picture was also partially made as a wake-up call to some people, considering that a few people seem to act like they've forgotten they have a Halo OC in the first place. No, I'm not talking about Legion, Turbofurby, or Raine. Wolf, Theron, and 2K are doing just fine and I understand Uhze, Auri, and Wraith. I'm not saying you have to leave Destiny, but make a point of remembering this: we're all friends because of our interaction and enjoyment to Halo. Not as Destiny fanboys, but Halo fanfictioners. We may choose to unite as fans of other games (i.e. Destiny, Borderlands, Warhammer, etc.), but the one unifying factor has always been, and I wish will always be, is Halo.
