Description Manufacturer: Varies/multiple independent armories and forgemasters

Material: Ceramite-titanium composites and plasteel

Weight: ≈ 800-850 lbs

Power Type: Microfusion generator with backup solar cells

Key Components:
- Inner Skinsuit: A moisture-absorbing layer of synthetic fabric designed to fit around the Marine like a bodyglove. Now fulled integrated as a part of the armor itself, removing the step of wearing it before attaching armor pieces.
- Helmet: Contains an information system that provides useful data to the user displayed via Heads Up Display (HUD), ports to connect to the user directly, pressure seals around the lower jaw to provide full containment from hostile environments, oxygen tanks, toxin filters, and communication devices.
    - Autosenses: The term used to describe the collective features found in a Space Marine's helmet. This includes thought-activated communication augers, audio-filters, targeting reticles, range finders, tactical displays, motion, gas, and energy detectors, and a multitude of other features.
    - Photolenses: Reinforced visor/eye guards that protect the Space Marine via dampeners from bright light bursts such as nuclear explosions or direct sunlight. Also allows for use of infrared and ultraviolet vision
-Ceramite outer and inner shells: Hold internal wiring and structure necessary to connect the neural link to the rest of the suit. Contains built-in biofoam dispensers and fusion reactor to power the suit. Capable of augmenting the user's reaction time and strength.
-Ceramite: Advanced heat-dispersing ceramics that is made of a fusion of ceramic plating with titanium. Capable of withstanding enormous amounts of damage, especially heat-based weapons like Covenant Plasma and Forerunner Hardlight weapons.
-Microfusion Reactor: The primary source of power for the armor. Capable of powering the HUD, communications systems, energy shields, life-support systems, and force-muliplying and reactive circuit.
-Backup Solar Panels: An emergency power source should the microfusion reactor fail for any reason.
-Shield generator: Provides the users with rechargeable energy shields, giving the user substantial protection in firefights. Capable of recharge given a short pause after being hit.
-Black Carapace Attachment Ports: Various points of the armor that are meant to attach directly to a Space Marine's skin, further reducing reaction time without the assistance of an Aritificial Intelligence. Also allows for even more refined and precise movements than ever before.

By the time the Mark IV had been created, the Vengeance Crusade had slown down to a crawl. For mankind as a whole, the Covenant Empire was but a shadow of its former glory, with many of its planets and armies now in ruins due to the combined might of the Swords, UNSC, and Astartes. The Space Marines felt that the UNSC could finish off the remaining Covenant strongholds without their support, and so they withdrew to their strongholds out beyond the UNSC's and Covenant's reach. Now that the primary threat to humanity had been dealt with, the new branch of humanity could focus more on consolidating and reinforcing their own territory. This idea was heavily reinforced when the worlds of Avion IV, Tiberia II, and Hecestus came under attack from repeated Ork, Jiralhanae, and Dark Eldar raids and assaults.

The Mark VI 'Armature' Power Armor was constructed as a means to more easily standardize and produce power armor. Unlike its predecessors, it was easier to produce and repair due to having separate plates as opposed to the interlocking ones of those of previous designs. While this did slightly decrease the overall protection it could provide compared to the Mark II Legionnaire Armor, it did increase part interchangeability with previous marks and even some parts of MJOLNIR armor sets, albiet in extremely limited capacity compared to later Marks and preexisting MJOLNIR designs. This change also allowed for the integration of sharper and more sophisticated sensor equipment, something that would become standard for all future Astartes armor designs. It even noted by prototype wearers for allowing additional flexibility and movement.

Many of the suit's core functions and upgrades would prove to be a baseline for all future Space Marine power armors.
