Ever since her father disappeared, Alfredia Quicksilver had always wanted to take up the knight's title to continue his legacy. So, she trained herself personally every day, getting tougher and stronger bit by bit. Of course, she and her mother were falling on hard times when she reached her teens. Without anybody's consent, she decided to enter the upcoming fighting tournament in the coliseum. Disguising herself as best as she could - with full helmet and shroud - she applied under the alias "Lance Falchion".

Of all the fighters in the tournament, Lance excelled the most. In the finals, though, her opponent proved to be an unnaturally powerful threat. Beaten, broken, and her helmet and shroud shredded to pieces, it looked like she was doomed to die there in the area floor. However, she saw that her challenger came packing a secret - the stolen Spectrum Key of Ciann, Night Vision, hidden beneath his cape and improving his defensive capabilities. In one last defiant act, she lunged behind and yanked Night Vision out of his scabbard. It reacted to her touch, and...to the whole audience's surprise, Night Vision had accepted her as its new wielder. As for Lance's opponent, he lost the protection that Night Vision provided and was knocked down with a single strike.

This was an incredible comeback moment - it even drew the attention of Primarch Sabbatica Nero. Lance did try to return Night Vision to the Ferome Empire's safekeeping, but Nero instead decided to give Lance a shot at training for knighthood. So not only did Lance win the tournament's money prize and save her home from poverty, but she got a free enrollment in the Ferome Knights Academy. Over the next three years, she's further improved her own strengths, and understood a little more about Night Vision - and her own role as its new guardian.

Though everything she knew of the world was constrained to Ciann, Lance would eventually start to truly understand the big picture - beginning with a visit from the travelling Saelph...

- Water attacks: Conjures water to launch in projectile form. Dangerous when combined with Electric Vector.

- Fog manipulation: Condenses water into a thick fog, obscuring sight and often reflecting light-based attacks.

- Water state shift: Can add or remove heat from water (and other liquids), vaporizing or freezing it in seconds.

-= NIGHT VISION =-

- The Emerald Spectrum Key of Ciann. It takes the form of a spear with a spine-like handle.

- Having bonded with Lance, its true form is a scabbard-like attachment to her own back. She can regenerate its weapon form from this "scabbard".

- With it, Lance's senses have become more accurate than normal. For instance, she can discern sounds from further away and can see through intense light or deep darkness.

-= JAZZ =-

- An additional Vitalgear in a motorcycle-like form. It can actually collapse for easy carrying.

- Lance often uses it to ride around and for jousting attacks. And with her Electric Vector, she can direct it remotely.

-= Idea: UNDERDOG, Rising Up =-

- Bleed Out: Become faster and stronger when in a more critical state.

- Emerald Ward: A momentary barrier that can block virtually all harmful force from an attack and absorb kinetic energy from it to empower Lance. Knockback may still apply, and requires precise timing on Lance's part.

- Pinpoint: Plants a small focus onto a target. That focus makes the area on the target much more vulnerable to force for a while.

- Comeback: If struck by an enemy, she can teleport directly behind that specific foe.

- Despite her size, Lance is the youngest of the main characters in Melody of Fauna. She is still a student, after all.
