Painting is more relaxing than I thought but takes a loooot of timeI was feeling nostalgic so I painted one of my favorite childhood games

Nice perspective! I like how you made Sonic look down at the camera since we're looking up at him. Your hands look very good, especially his left (our right) fist, that's a bit of a tricky angle to draw a fist in. But you did well. The background is good as well! The only thing I would say is it'd be good to see a brighter glow on Super Sonic, but I see from your later work that you do implement brighter glows. So I have no complaints, this is pretty good. ^^

First thing I want to say is that I am aware that this is a bit of an old deviation. Because of this I did look over your gallery quickly so I could see how you have improved in recent times and that way I can avoid making comments on things you have already worked on!
I want to first congratulate you because this is a very good image in general, it is visually appealing and as you can see in many of the other comments it is a good depiction of sonic in a fun and dynamic pose that resonates with people. Also As I mentioned earlier, as I breezed through your gallery I noticed this seems to be one of your early attempts at lifeless art, witch in an of itself is generally weird to start doing and hard to get used to, and you have done a good job! The shapes are clear, you can see where things start and end properly which is honestly one of the things I personally struggle with the most.
Now on to the constructive part. I thing you need a bit more brush diversity in the shading, while the airbrush is great for shading round objects (considering sonics design it makes sense to use this the most) there are certain shadows that should have a hard edge. A good example is in the Eye area, the upper lids should make a cast shadow on the actual eye ball, or in the armpit, the arm will make a cast shadow on the torso that would have a hard edge. Also, using a different brush when painting near edges can make it so that you can fully fill the section without creating the effect of a strangely inconsistent back-light (now that I read this part I must admit it sounds weird so I will make an example, in his torso, specifically the side that is shaded you can see that toward the edge there is a patch of the base tone that kind of makes it look as if he has a very weak back light, but in other parts of his body such as his tail and parts of his hair, this effect isn't present).
On the topic of light, I think the light source is inconsistent in the image. The fist that faces us is shaded as if the light is hitting him from the front, on his left leg, before the knee it is lit from above, but below the knee it is lit from the side (this is because the light hitting the side is at the same intensity as the one hitting the top of his leg) and on his left ear is shaded as if the light is hitting it from the left side. However the rest of the body seems to indicate the light is coming from an area in the upper left.

I think the brush I used when I was doing this piece was the marker tool in paint tool sai but with a bit different settings than the default one? I'm not really sure because I changed it after so long I think switching to the normal brush and playing around with that one helped a lot with my recent pieces! I'll have to work more on hard shadows vs soft shadows though.
And yeah I understand the part about the light and shadows being kinda inconsistent, it was pretty hard to figure out where to draw them because admittedly between the glow of the super form and the space setting I really wasn't that sure where the light should be coming from I'm trying to be more consistent with this in the newer stuff I'm drawing so hopefully I should be able to fix this, maybe in a year or so I'll try to redraw this and see if anything changes

WOW! That's really good! It looks so real it almost looks like CGI!
(ok, yeah, CGI isn't exactly real, but what I mean is the lighting and shading really makes it feel real and 3-dimensional. TLDR, it's really good!

I never played the game, but I did watch the anime, maybe when I was a teenager. That was a few years ago. And I think the title is Sonic X. Amazing job with this drawing!
