Description
I felt it would be fun to make a study of every Zelda character once in awhile, both canon and OC that I have drawn or will come to draw in my series and maybe shed light as to why I chose their designs."You think you know what itβs like to be mistreated? Try living my life for a day, sir." -Ilia
Full name and other titles: Ilia
Appearances: Twilight Princess (canon) TBA (non-canon)
Design Notes: I've almost never drawn horses before... so this was a first. I'll be honest, I really do not like Ilia that much. She came off as a Saria wannabe (similar name, role in game, and even looks), and anyone who tries to replace Saria is automatically on my "not-friend" list. I hope to sort of distinguish her, and hopefully flesh her out a little bit more and give her some respect that she deserves. I kept her outfit mostly the same from Twilight Princess, with the exception of changing the grayish neck piece that I thought looked plain weird.

Ilia will show up in Hyrule: Total War for sure. With a bit of guesswork I have a feeling you know what side she'll be one.

And, Ordonians I'd assume XD I've actually been curious with how all you plan to encorporate the Ordonians in general into your work. As for my potential fics, Link himself is from Ordon, as oppossed to the Kokiri Forest or any of his other abodes.

I can understand your dislike of Ilia, even though she's one of my favorite characters, but I don't think it should be placed for trying to be a Saria wannabe' she diversifies her role from Saria, and that should do her a bit of justice.
The artwork here is great as well, I can't comment on every piece, as I would be here forever. And despite our differing tastes of the character, you still managed to make a great picture.

You did a great job on the pic overall, but sadly, methinks you made Ilia a bit too defined. I'm pretty sure you know what I mean.

I thought she was sort of the combination of Saria and Malon, seeing as she was the resident "horse whisperer" or whatever.
Both Ilia and the horse look great. Nice job! You make her look super cool here and much more independent than her TP design.

I didn't like Ilia in TP. Mostly because I thought that the Zelda team didn't do a good job with her. She was portrayed as being Link's possible girlfriend or best friend, and when she gets her memory back... nothing happens. Link just smiles then never talks to her again.
Oh, and you get the horse call, which is useless by that point because you can just teleport

Heh... As I keep looking further in-depth online, I keep finding yet other people who've found a lot of comparisons between Ilia and Saria. At first I thought I would be the only one. ^^
Nice design overall. She definitely looks even closer to Saria here, though, in your art style. Doesn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing, though. Just commenting.

Given the nature of people 'reprising' their roles in each Link's era, I can imagine Illia being Saria's spiritual descendant (some argue she'd be Malon's), either way, I can imagine her having her own visits by the golden wolf... and knowing no fear.

I never liked Ilia. She always seemes mindless and like she wanted to have sex with Epona. Hope you can make her better.
As for the horse, well I've ridden a lot of horses. You did really well, so I'm not trying to be critical but there are a few points of interest:
- The front legs tend to taper a lot more as you go down the leg
- The hindquarters are much more pronounced than they appear here.
- The ears don't usually tend to be that big.
But other than that the horse looks great!
