I re-did all of the yellow in a deeper, less lemon yellow, added extra details all over, washed most of the green parts in a darker green, painted the eyes light blue since the light piping wasn't great, and hit him with a flat clear coat.Probably my favorite TF of 2013 followed by TFP Shockwave.

Honestly I kind of hurt his light piping when I didn't mask the head before adding flat coat so I had to paint them in. I sometimes rush a bit when squeezing a custom for myself in between commissions.

Mate I have to thank you for inspiring me to get into figure customizing and this one is definitely an upgrade. I guess painting the eyes is a must for this character. Honestly in my opinion most figures don't have very good light piping for their optics. Very few can even pull it off effectively.

Very true. When I find one that works really well, I keep it intact. I kind of messed Springer's up when I hit it with the flat coat though.
If I inspired anyone to do anything positive at all that's good! Knowing how to fix and improve figures is a helpful thing to learn as a collector.

I just need to paint up a few more of my Prime figures and then I should be finished up with just about everything that's been released so far. My area just flat out sucks at distribution so I have had no luck procuring any of the Beast Hunters wave 3 items and no new voyagers like Shockwave, Grimwing, or Ultra Magnus.

Ah, well I haven't actually gotten grimwing yet but I've seen magnus at every store so I know I just missed the good voyagers that come in a case with him. In fact I'm going to go look at the 2 nearest Walmarts again now.

So far the only things that have shown up at my local Walmart that's been of interest are two FOC Starscreams and both Springer and Blitzwing. I picked up the Starscreams and Springer but still on the fence with Blitzwing.

Blitzwing is a really well done homage to the G1 toy, but as a figure in general, he is just pretty cool. The yellow head is ugly and some parts don't slot into place for sturdy modes well. Alt modes are just passable as what they are supposed to be, but still pretty cool looking. I'd say get him for sure, but don't miss a meal or 2 to get him.

on the Voyager price point, I believe this may be the best Transformer for at LEAST the past 5 years, his only flaw are the wimpy pressure missiles in his gun instead of spring loaded ones but all three of his modes are so great I really don't care.

well there have been better figures, but I can't think of any on the Voyager price point, MAYBE Lugnut but I can't remember if he came out more or less than 5 years ago.

The way you painted this guy strongly reminds me of a painted Gundam model. XD
